Office of Multicultural Affairs Director
Laura Casey Terry began her employment with East Tennessee State University in 1987 as an admissions counselor. She has been in the position of Director of Multicultural Affairs since 1994. As director, Mrs. Terry is responsible for contributing to the social and educational development of under-represented students, as well as promoting a culturally diverse and non-discriminating campus community. In conjunction with university officials, Mrs. Terry serves as an advocate for under-represented students. Mrs. Terry serves on many presidentially appointed committees as well as task force committees, and advises both the Gospel Choir and the Black Affairs Association. Mrs. Terry is an ETSU graduate with two degrees; a B.S.W. of social work and a M.A. degree in Sociology.
Office of Multicultural Affairs Assistant
Tedra Bennett assists the Director of Multicultural Affairs in providing direct services to minority students and related student organizations. Tedra works under the supervision of the Director of Multicultural Affairs, Laura Terry and assists with the creation of diversity programs on campus, as well as assisting with the two departmentally advised organizations. She helps to maintain the office website, on-line calendar, contact sheets, distribution lists, and brochure by writing updated information and other duties as assigned by the Director throughout the academic year. Tedra graduated from ETSU in May 2011 with a B.S. in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Merchandising.
