Individual Tutoring
"I need help on an assignment or studying for a course."
Trained and successful tutors provide individual assistance with many courses and subject areas, including most general education courses.
Students receive personalized, one-on-one support tailored to their needs, whether they want to review difficult content, prepare for exams, strengthen their study skills, and so much more.
Students may meet face-to-face in the CFAA or virtually via Zoom.
Supplemental Instruction
My class has regular group review sessions."
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a stuctured group study that helps students achieve success in historically difficult courses.
SI consists of regularly scheduled, voluntary group study sessions facilitated by a trained peer SI Leader who has previously taken the course.
Data indicates that students who attend SI sessions regularly earn significantly more higher grades in the course than students who do not.
Academic Coaching
"I'm overwhelmed, behind, or need better study habits."
Academic coaching gives students the opportunity to become a Very Important Bucanneer (VIB) (Very Impoertant Bucanneer)!
VIBs are paired with an academic coach who meets regularly with students to provide support with transistioning to life at ETSU, study skills, success habits, time-management, and more.
Academic coaching is for anyone who might benefit from having a peer who can answer their questions and address any issue that may arise during a student's time at ETSU.
