Charge:	The Council performs the following: Recommends policies, guidelines, services, and practices that assure the Sherrod Library and the College of Medicine Library collaborate effectively and efficiently to avoid unnecessary costs and duplication while also providing collections, resources, and services that are sufficient to support all the Universitys educational, research, and public service programs Represents users (student and faculty) and monitors the Universitys effectiveness in supporting access and user privileges to adequate library collections and services and to other learning/information resources consistent with degrees the University offers. Develops and monitors ongoing documentation of the Universitys compliance with requirements and standards for regional accreditation Reviews and maintains an ongoing record of the appropriateness and sufficiency of library and learning resources and services that emerge from external assessments (i.e., specialized accreditation, academic audits, periodic program reviews) Reviews and maintains an ongoing record of Library services that ETSU provides or receives through consortial or contractual agreements, including that with the Watauga Regional Library
Meetings and Reporting	The Council will conduct its business through a schedule of at least one meeting each in the fall and spring terms and other meetings as the occasion or membership may determine necessary. It will provide an annual report of activities and recommendations at the conclusion of each fiscal year and will present the report to the Academic Council early in the Fall Semester.
