What if my mobile phone number changes?

To update your mobile number: 

  • Visit https://webmail.etsu.edu/
  • Log in with your ETSU Credentials
  • Click the settings icon and type the word "security" in the search box
  • Click to dropdown the "additional security verification" module
  • Click the link to "update your phone numbers for account security"

How do I authenticate if I am out of the country or without cell service?

While you have internet connectivity, modify your 2FA account settings to use an authenticator app.

  • Visit https://webmail.etsu.edu/
  • Log in with your ETSU Credentials
  • Click the settings icon and type the word "security" in the search box
  • Click to dropdown the "additional security verification" module
  • Click the link to "update your phone numbers for account security"
  • Change default verification option to "use verification code from app or token" by clicking dropdown
  • Check the box "Authenticator app or token"
  • Click the button to "set up Authenticator app" and follow the instructions provided

What if I get an error while creating an app password?

If you see the following "Error code: 0" message while trying to create an app password, please contact the Help Desk

What if I want to Authenticate using a call instead of a text message?
  • Visit https://webmail.etsu.edu/
  • Log in with your ETSU Credentials
  • Click the settings icon and type the word "security" in the search box
  • Click to dropdown the "additional security verification" module
  • Click the link to "update your phone numbers for account security"
  • Change default verification option to "Call my authentication phone" by clicking dropdown
  • Be sure the "Authentication phone" field is checked and that the correct phone is entered
  • Click save
