The Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is generally the first step in the process of becoming a licensed professional engineer (P.E.). Please check NCEES website for more information. Each student in the Engineering Program is required to sit for the FE exam before graduation. To encourage students to take the exam, the department reimburses a portion of the test fee.

FE Exam Review Course
The department offers a FE Exam Review course to prepare students to sit for the FE exam. The review course comprises of lectures and FE exam style problem solving and cover topics included in the exam.
Reimbursement
The Department of Engineering, Engineering Technology, Interior Architecture, and Surveying will reimburse the student for the exam fee ($175). All other fees, including those for the state registration and the FE exam review course, will be the student’s responsibility and will not be reimbursed. In order to receive reimbursement, the student will have to supply:
- written confirmation of receipt of payment (showing amount) by the testing service
- copy of the letter from the testing service informing you of the test results
The student will be reimbursed whether or not you pass the exam, but the student must submit the letter giving the result. Confirmation of payment can be a copy of your credit card statement (showing name, but not account number) or a copy of your certified check or money order.

Reimbursement may take several weeks to process. So student should include: 1) E‑mail address, 2) Telephone number, and 3) A valid mailing address to which you want the reimbursement sent.
