The Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is generally the first step in the process of becoming a licensed professional engineer (P.E.). Please check NCEES website for more information. Each student in the Engineering Program is required to sit for the FE exam before graduation. To encourage students to take the exam, the department reimburses a portion of the exam fee.

FE Exam Review Course
The department offers a FE Exam Review course (ENGR 4810) to prepare students to sit for the FE exam. The review course comprises of lectures and FE exam- style problem solving and cover topics included in the exam. FE Other Disciplines exam Specifications can be found at this link.
Reimbursement
The Department of Engineering, Engineering Technology, Interior Architecture, and Surveying will reimburse students for the FE exam fee of $225 (see the note below). All other fees, including state registration and the FE exam review course, are the student's responsibility and will not be reimbursed. To receive reimbursement students must submit
- Confirmation of passing the FE exam.
Copy of the test results letter from the testing service.
Confirmation of exam fee payment: This can be a copy of your credit card statement showing the payment amount (your account number will be redacted) or a copy of your certified check or money order.

Note: The student will be reimbursed ($175-ONLY) if the student does not pass the exam, but the student must submit the letter giving the result. The ($50) is an incentive for students to pass the FE exam. Reimbursement may take several weeks to process. So students should include: 1) E-mail address, 2) Telephone number, and 3) A valid mailing address to which you want the reimbursement sent.
