April 4th, 2022
On Monday, April 4th, 2022, ETSU hosted its first TEDx event. This student-led campus event featured an array of talks and performances that all shared the theme of “Connection.” Thanks to the leadership and coordination of our faculty member Thomas Townsend, and the time and expertise of our faculty, the Department of Communication and Performance was positioned as THE coaching resource for the TEDx presenters.
Special thanks to our faculty coaches: Christine Anzur, Adriane Flanary, Andrew Herrmann, Dallas Honeycutt, Amber Kinser, Jamie Sproles, and Thomas Townsend. We are so proud that two of the ten presenters were students in our Communication & Storytelling Studies graduate program. Congratulations to Kelle Jolly and Jordan Bennett—well done!
It was genuinely our pleasure to be involved in this event and we congratulate the vision and initiative of ETSU student Chloe Philpot from the Department of Literature and Language. We look forward to being an integral part of the future of TEDx events at ETSU.
