The Mockingbird
Submission deadline for The Mockingbird is Monday, November 8, 2021.
The Mockingbird is the student literary magazine published by the East Tennessee State University Department of Literature and Language.
The Mockingbird staff and contributors are all students, some submitting their creative works for the first time. Traditionally, the call for literary submissions occurs early during the fall semesters. We encourage all ETSU students, regardless of major, to participate in creating The Mockingbird.
Emily E. Price is editor of The Mockingbird’s 49th volume, scheduled to appear in spring 2022.
Emily Price is a second-year graduate student, a founding member of Atlas Books Cooperative, and board member of the Johnson City Poets Collective. She received her undergraduate degree in English with minors in Creative Writing and Philosophy from ETSU in 2020. Emily won the Jack Higgs Undergraduate Essay Award in 2019 and has appeared in both the 2020 and 2021 editions of The Mockingbird. She lives in Johnson City with her cat, Opal, and dog, Emmy, where she can be found working on her master's thesis, planning open mics or bookstore events, and reading too many books at once.
Thank you for visiting our website; if you are an ETSU student, we hope to receive some of your work for consideration for an upcoming issue of The Mockingbird.
