Niswonger Foundation Collaboration (Fall 2024, Spring 2025, Spring 2026)
The Niswonger Foundation is a non-profit organization which has developed multiple programs over the course of its two and a half decades including NiswongerCARE which supports high school completion and college matriculation for over twenty high schools, Summer Melt which guides students through the transition into college during the summer after graduation, and the NiswongerSTART program that connects first year college students to campus resources at two community colleges.
MS in ADS students have been involved in analyzing all three programs. For two semesters, students analyzed the NiswongerCARE and Summer Melt program data, giving insights into the collected data as well as suggesting alternative analysis and insights which might be possible with the collection of additional data. NiswongerSTART is the newest of the three programs. Students are not only analyzing data from the first two cohorts of student participants, but they are also creating a new database and dashboard for Niswonger which will automatically provide updated analysis when new data is entered in the system.
