José Abraham Ruiz Galván began the Master of Music of Violin Performance in the fall of 2025. He studies with Dr. David Kovac. Abraham started studying the violin at the age of twelve through the social project Esperanza Azteca in Coatepec, Mexico. He started taking formal lessons at the age of 13 with Ilya Gotchev. By the age of 15, he was admitted to the Instituto Superior de Música del Estado de Veracruz, where he studied under the guidance of Borislav Gotchev and Manuel Lozano.
In 2018, he received a full-ride scholarship to study abroad at Nicholls State University, where he studied under the guidance of James Alexander and graduated with a Bachelor of Music in May 2023. His studies included masterclasses with esteemed violinists such as Amalia Hall, Nune Melik, Erika Dobosiewicz, Igor Pikayzen, Paul Kantor, Charles Castleman, Emilian Dascal, and others.
In 2024, José Abraham Ruiz was offered a place in the studio of world-renowned violinist Charles Castleman at the Frost School of Music, University of Miami. That same year, he received a Conservatory Recital Diploma from Nicholls State University.
