Courses Offered
Cultural learning is an integral part of the Summer in Rome. A one-day excursion outside Rome to Pompeii, Orvieto, or another Roman town is included in the program along with entry costs, transportation and a guide. Transportation for a day trip to Tivoli and Ostia will be provided. Additional excursions may be added. Excursions are chosen based on academic curriculum and are subject to change.
Architectural History - 3 Credits
This course will examine Rome through its art, architecture and construction with careful attention to historical contexts and interrelated meanings. Students will gain a significant understanding of Romes Complex Urban development over the past 2,000 years. All participants will be required to keep a photo or sketch journal of the experience and join in making an on-campus presentation upon returning home.
Strategic International Experience - 3 Credits
The Strategic International Experience course is a graduate level course centered on the study of international environments and includes topics that address health and architecture, water management, wind, solar, environmental economics, and cultural aspects related to this field. This course may involve visiting professors in Rome and involvement with other international students.

In an age of increasing globalization of commercial activities, this course is intended to provide students with the opportunity to travel abroad to learn first hand about the history, culture and business practices of other countries and cultures which is an important step in becoming effective global managers.
