(April 14, 2022) Twenty-four hours…and endless opportunities to make a difference.
With ETSU’s Day of Giving 2022 event about to begin, Jon See wants donors to know that whatever program, initiative, college, or opportunity at ETSU they want to support, their gifts will be used however they are designated.
“Through all of our fundraising efforts at ETSU, we want our supporters to give to the areas that resonate with them,” said Jon See, director of Annual Giving at ETSU. “For some, it may be for scholarships, or a building project, or something that creates new opportunities for our faculty. Others may want to give to an academic program, or athletics, or something specifically for students.
“During Day of Giving, our donors choose where their money goes to work,” he said.
Last year alone, the event received 875 gifts bringing in $320,000. Since Day of Giving started in 2016, over $800,000 has been raised.
“This year, our goal is to see participation from at least 900 donors,” he said.
See noted that this year’s planning committee includes a number of students, all of whom have benefited from scholarships at ETSU that have reduced their educational expenses.
“Our student committee members recognize how scholarship support has made a tremendous difference in their lives, and they are working to spread the word about ways to create these opportunities for other students,” he said.
Day of Giving begins Tuesday, April 19, at 9 a.m. To make a gift to ETSU, visit here.
