Sway to the rhythm: ETSU’s Corazón Latino Festival returns
The Language and Culture Resource Center at East Tennessee State University has partnered with community organizations for more than a decade to highlight the region’s rich Latino culture and promote unity.
That exciting tradition continues later this month. The 14th annual Corazón Latino Festival runs from 4-10:30 p.m. on Friday, April 26, at King Commons, a three-acre recreational space in downtown Johnson City.
“We welcome the entire community to come out and celebrate with us and get to know your neighbors while having lots of fun,” said Dr. Felipe Fiuza, director of the center at ETSU.
The festival brings food, dance, art and live music to the region.
The biggest attraction this year is two-times Grammy® winner Marlow Rosado, who is flying into Johnson City straight from Puerto Rico. Florencia & the Feeling, Mexican Folklore Dancers, DJ Torrado, Salsa Tri-Cities,and BJ Goliday are also returning attractions.
From ETSU graduate Kenny Chesney to star Jason Derulo, the university regularly brings elite talent to the region. ETSU is home to a vibrant community, hosting dozens of concerts, exhibitions and performances throughout the year. Many events are happening this month.
