Join us on Monday, October 9, 2023, at 5 p.m. for the ETSU Elevates Pitch Event. Nine student teams and their community partners will pitch their community service project ideas in front of a LIVE audience at the ETSU Martin Center for the Arts. Community Partners from the Appalachian Highlands include

  • Rise: Healthy for Life
  • Mooresburg Community Association
  • Frontier Health – Willow Ridge
  • Miles for Smiles
  • LXI
  • Northeast TN National Association of Black Social Workers
  • Appalachian Veterans' Festival
  • The Manna House
  • Hawkins County School District

In addition to $1,500 seed funding that each ETSU Elevates Project already has, they are eligible for additional funding at the Pitch Event. Judges will award the ETSU Elevates 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes and the audience will select the People’s Choice Award. ETSU Elevates 2023 will invest a total of $25,000 to address community needs. Don't miss it! Come vote for your favorite ETSU Elevates Project!

Through the ETSU Elevates program, ETSU students will identify an economic, social, or environmental issue area of their choice and coordinate with a community-based partner (agency, organization, or client) in the region to conceptualize, design, and implement a service-focused solution to their unique topic. Engaging with community experts in addition to their community partners, students will explore the root causes of their identified issue area while developing practical and scalable solutions through workshop training sessions and coaching.

Upon completion of the ETSU Elevates Summer Intensive workshops, the student and community partners will share their proposals publicly at the ETSU Elevates Pitch Competition where they will secure funds to scale and implement their proposed projects.
