Current teachers can apply the certificate toward an additional PreK–12 English as a Second Language endorsement. Coursework emphasizes real-world teaching experiences, featuring assignments and readings that showcase proven strategies and best practices for supporting English learners.

Practical Training for ESL Educators
This certificate prepares educators to effectively teach and advocate for English
learners in PreK–12 classrooms through advanced study of language development, assessment,
and cross-cultural awareness. Students gain practical skills in lesson design, differentiation,
and equitable assessment to create inclusive, effective learning environments for
diverse students. Program information including curriculum and graduation requirements

The courses offered as part of this certificate may also be applied towards the Reading, M.Ed. (ESL Concentration) or Curriculum and Instruction, M.Ed.
