The graduate certificate in One Health and Climate Studies provides an opportunity to learn about one of the greatest challenges facing our planet. By completing this certificate, you will have a broad introduction of how the planet’s climate is changing and the impact that this will have on human health, the well-being of plants and animals, and on the environment. It is ideal for people interested in a better understanding of climate change and the many challenges that it poses.

The health of humans, animals, plants, and the environment are directly impacted by the rapid changes that are being observed in the planet’s climate. Understanding, and ultimately addressing, the impact of climate changes on the health of people, animals, and ecosystems, requires a broad overview of multiple fields.

This graduate certificate provides a broad overview of the field of One Health, with a special focus on the impact of climate change on the well-being of humans, animals, and the environment. ETSU is well positioned to offer training in One Health, bringing together the University’s expertise in climatology, ecology, Appalachian Studies, environmental health, epidemiology and several human health programs.

    This certificate is designed for students and professionals working in health care, public health, agriculture, education, the environment, regional studies and other fields. The multi-disciplinary graduate certificate in One Health and Climate Studies will provide a broad overview of how climate change is impacting the global environment, and how this will, in turn, impact human, animal, and environmental health and well-being.
