East Tennessee State University's online/on-ground (blended) graduate certificate program provides licensed K-12 educators with an opportunity to expand their skills and methods for engaging students in rich, powerful STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) learning experiences.
The STEM K12 Education Graduate Certificate is a 15-credit hour program that focuses on topics of importance to teachers and districts in providing exceptional mathematics, science, and engineering learning experiences. Students will be enrolled one class on campus and one class online each semester until completion.

To be admitted, you must
- Meet the ETSU School of Graduate Studies Admissions Requirements
- Have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Submit a 2-page essay outlining past experience with STEM education and goals beyond achieving the certificate in STEM PreK-12 Education.

Steps to Apply
Step 1 Create your ETSU Application Account by choosing the "Sign Up" option
Step 2 Sign into the ETSU Application Portal and select "Start a New Application"
Step 3 Choose "Graduate," select your student type (domestic or international), select "Certificate," term, then choose Stem K Through 12 Education and complete the remainder of the form.
