Dr. Thigpen meets with student pharmacistsThe Doctor of Pharmacy is a four-year degree program that prepares students to provide skilled, ethical, and compassionate patient care as pharmacists. Our program offers 30+ career option experiences in a variety of fields. In addition, you can tailor your studies to your dream path with dual degree options in PharmD/MBA or PharmD/MPH, a research track, residency prep track, and interprofessional education. 

Thirty percent of the curriculum is comprised of experiential learning opportunities such as the three tiered Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE 1-3), which allows the student to apply what they have learned in the classroom in dynamic real patient care situations. As the student progresses through the program, the IPPE is designed to offer more challenges to the student based on objectives and competencies, and help students become more involved in pharmaceutical care and in the operation of the pharmacy.
