The purpose of the Tenure and Promotion work group is to revise the current institutional tenure and promotion policy. Additionally, this group will review tenure and promotion policies from peer institutions, and review the needs of various units within the institution. This work is important because it will set the institutional requirements that guide departments and units as they draft department tenure and promotion policies.
The Tenure and Promotion work group will be responsible for:
- Reviewing current ETSU tenure and promotion policies
- Reviewing tenure and promotion policies from peer institutions, and
- Listening to the recommendations of various units across the institution
Deliverables and Timeline:
To provide an ETSU tenure and promotion policy draft during the spring 2026. The work group will gather feedback so that the policy can go out for public comment during the spring semester.
