Educational Opportunity Center
Welcome to the Educational Opportunity Center!
The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) is a free TRIO program dedicated to helping adults explore educational opportunities, pursue career goals, and take the next step toward a brighter future. EOC serves over 1,000 participants by providing personalized guidance and support as they navigate the path to college, vocational training, or other postsecondary education opportunities.
EOC staff work one-on-one with participants to identify educational and career goals,
explore training and college options, complete admissions and financial aid applications,
prepare for college entrance exams, and build financial literacy skills. Participants
can also receive academic guidance, career counseling, and ongoing support as they
transition into and adjust to college or vocational programs. For those who need to
complete their high school education before moving forward, EOC can provide guidance
on high school equivalency and alternative education options.
The program is open to adults who do not have a four-year college degree and who are
ready to explore new opportunities for education and career advancement.
To be eligible, participants must reside in one of the following Tennessee counties:
Carter, Unicoi, Hawkins, Sullivan, Johnson, Washington, or Greene.
Whether you are considering college for the first time, returning to school, exploring
a new career path, or looking for help navigating the admissions and financial aid
process, EOC is here to help you take the next step.
