2nd Annual CORAZÓN LATINO FESTIVAL October 2011
Christina Romero, a junior at ETSU, student worker at the LCRC, and co-founder of
Hispanic American Student Community Alliance (HASCA), took over the reins of this
multicultural festival in the summer of 2011. Wendy Saucedo, co-founder of Hispanic
American Student Community Alliance (HASCA) was also one of the coordinators. The
event was a great success due to the cooperation and support of people of diverse
backgrounds and companies, which is the goal of the festival. With the help of Calan
Charlton, Americorps VISTA worker, they were able to bring the event to the people
in October and secure a date for what will be the biggest Corazon Latino yet in May
2012.
1st Annual CORAZÓN LATINO FESTIVAL October 2010
Jackie Turnquist, a senior at ETSU and LCRC student worker, along with Matt Wampler,
an Americorps VISTA worker, Wendy Saucedo, and many of the LCRC staff organized this
festival celebrating Hispanic arts and culture. This event was a success; it brought
out many local families and ETSU students to downtown Johnson City for a night of
food, movies, and dancing.
