The Department of Literature and Language at East Tennessee State University offers an Honors Program in English to challenge the most dedicated and passionate students.
Consisting of 18 hours of honors English courses, the program offers exciting and challenging writing-intensive classes plus an honors thesis.
Students enrolled in Honors-in-Discipline programs qualify for scholarships of $2500 a year, which are stackable with other scholarships. More information on scholarships can be found on the Honors College Website.
The English Honors Program is available to students who are either English majors or English minors.
Several of the honors courses fulfill general education requirements; Honors composition courses fulfill the Written Composition requirement, and the Honors Literature Surveys fulfill the Literature requirement in Humanities and Fine Arts.
