Harold LaSwell famously defined politics as the process of determining who receives what, where, when, and how.
With the depth of knowledge and experience of our faculty, the ETSU Department of
Political Science helps to answer these questions. Combined our faculty have expertise
in nearly every important aspect of politics, and through our dynamic course offerings,
our majors investigate the nature, causes and consequences of politics domestically
and internationally.
Our department offers a variety of options to accommodate all students. We offer an undergraduate major in Political Science as well as an undergraduate major in International Affairs. We also offer graduate Master’s in Public Administration. In addition, our department offers four distinct minors: political science, international affairs, public administration, and the legal studies minor, an interdisciplinary minor that is particularly popular among students who are interested in attending law school. Our department is also home to many exciting student organizations such as Model UN, the Pre-Law Society, and Pi Sigma Alpha.
