Dr. Bufano is an assistant professor of international relations and comparative politics. He received his Ph.D. in political science from the University of Alabama. Dr. Bufano is currently conducting research on racial identity politics, migrations, and transnational activism in North Africa. He recently completed field research in Tunisia with funding from the Project on Middle East Political Science and the Graduate School at the University of Alabama. He has published works on anti-establishment and authoritarian attitudes in the country, and has also conducted research at the American University in Cairo where he earned his master’s degree in political science and a certificate of proficiency in Arabic.

Teaching Interests
Dr. Bufano teaches courses on comparative politics, politics of Sub-Saharan Africa, populism and international relations.
Research Interests
Dr. Bufano's research interests focus on racial identity politics, migrations, foreign policy dynamics and transnational activism. He recently completed field research in Tunisia to further study the impact of anti-establishment and authoritarian attitudes in the country.
