Lindsey Cochran is an anthropological archaeologist specializing in historical archaeology and spatial archaeology. Her current research in historical archaeology focuses on antebellum culture in the Georgia lowcountry using geospatial methods to understand past people’s interaction with natural and cultural landscapes. She is also creates predictive models of which cultural heritage sites on the East Coast, USA, will be impacted by various effects of climate change, along with estimates of when those changes are expected to occur. Cochran earned a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee and completed a Postdoctoral Research Associateship from the University of Georgia.
Dr. Cochran teaches undergraduate archaeology courses, oversees Archaeology labs on-campus and at the Valleybrook facility, and conducts contract archaeological projects. She directs an archaeological field school annually on the Georgia coast.
Please feel free to contact Dr. Cochran with questions about the archaeology track at ETSU.
