This event features new faculty presenting their research and/or an idea they’re exploring in 3 minutes. The overarching goal is to connect the research community, foster interdisciplinary collaborations, and provide an environment in which faculty can master concise research/idea messaging. Q&A and networking time is integrated into the event.

At this session, Dr. Aruna Kilaru will share her experience from application process to transitioning to leadership role as a AAAS Science, Technology and Policy Fellow at USDA Foreign Agricultural Services and Program Director at National Science Foundation. A Q&A session will be included.

Dr. Hagemeier will brief the research community on FY23 research metrics and comment on research, scholarship, and creative activity progress and possibilities. Faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend.

Mastering Your Research Messaging

In this session, researchers will learn how to communicate research simply to a non-science audience. Through a “brand promise” lens, participants will leave this session with a message framework applicable to communicating research as well as communicating your personal research agenda.

Faculty Three-Minute Mixer
The faculty 3-Minute Mixer is an all-day event occurring each semester in which faculty are invited to share their research ideas in 3 minutes or less. This event fosters networking and interdisciplinary collaborations by allowing faculty to learn about research happening in a variety of fields in an informal and friendly setting. This video recaps the first Fall 2023 event. The next 2023 event will occur October 4th.
