Monday Night Session Information

Cancellation policy: if any of our 12 schools are closed for any reason (or close early) on the day of the session, the session will be cancelled. Check out our website (www.etsu.edu/ub) or Facebook and Instagram for information about session cancellations. You should also join our Remind for text updates about UB events: text @ETSUUB to 81010.

If you ride the bus to the session but do not plan to ride the bus back, you will need a note from a parent or guardian letting Upward Bound staff know that you have permission to ride home with someone else and who will be riding with.

If you do not ride the bus to the session please check-in at the table outside The Dining Hall at ETSU, UB staff will be there to help you.

Bus schedule: we are still finalizing the bus schedule but a charter bus will pick you up from your school and will return to that location for drop off, official locations will be coming soon.

Session schedule: 4:00 - 5:00 pm (Dinner), 5:00 - 7:00 pm (Classes), 7:00 pm (Load buses to return to your school)

Student Handbook

The student handbook has information on Upward Bound rules, regulations and policies. As well as, information concerning attendance, academic probation and disciplinary code of conduct.

Remind is a simple and easy to use text alert system. It's easy to sign up and we encourage all our students to use it. This will be an efficient and easy way for Upward Bound staff to communicate information such as school visit changes, Monday session changes, etc.

You can sign up using one of the following options:

3. Download the Remind app (iOS or Android)

• Brainfuse Tutoring

  Upward Bound students have free access to Brainfuse, a 24/7 online tutoring service. Students can log in and work with a live tutuor at anytime. 

  If you need to know your log in information or have questions about Brainfuse, please ask a staff member at a school visit.

• Homework Hotline

  All Tennessee students in grades K-12 have access to free homework help through a service called Homework Hotline. Teachers are available Monday through Thursday from 5-9 p.m. Eastern time. The hotline may be reached by calling 1-888-868-5777 or (615) 298-6636. Students may call as many times as they would like, and parents may call as well.

• ACT Prep

  ACT Waiver – All Upward Bound students are offered up to 2 ACT waivers in their junior and senior years. If you need a waiver, please ask a staff member at a school visit.
