About AAC

The Academic Advisement Council (AAC) is an open meeting for faculty & staff that are interested in the continuous improvement of advisement at ETSU. The AAC serves as a platform for academic advisors and advising partners to convene in a supportive, collaborative manner.

Working in partnership with the Office of the Executive Director of Academic Advisement, AAC meetings provide opportunities for professional development, cross-campus networking, and updates regarding policies, procedures, and curriculum to enhance academic advising's impact on student success.

Mission

The AAC strives to create a university-wide commitment to student success by:

  • Providing professional development opportunities for continued growth
  • Communicating information and updates to uphold consistent and inclusive practices in academic advising
  • Sharing recommendations in alignment with advising best practices
  • Building a network of professionals to ensure students receive accurate information and are supported in developing effective and meaningful goals

Meetings

AAC meets monthly on the third Tuesday of each month at 2:00PM throughout the calendar year.
