Distance Access

Distance Access Services

The Archives provides access to many of our materials to patrons who live outside the commuting area of ETSU.  The Archives provides distance access services by e-mail, mail, and telephone for a nominal fee. Distance access involves Archives staff consulting or referring to archival holdings to ascertain specific information found in archival collections. The Distance Access fee is applied to all distance access requests and must be received before the service is performed. A minimum fee of $10 for up to one hour of staff time is applied to all distance access requests. If additional staff time is required, a fee of $10 per hour is applied. All distance access service requests are granted subject to staff availability. Individuals doing substantial research or who live in the immediate area are encouraged to visit the Archives or arrange for the services of a private researcher.

Duplication Services

You may request duplication of university records, manuscript material, photographs, and other media subject to copyright, usage restrictions, and staff availability. All fees for duplication must be received before the service is performed and duplication does not confer the right to use the material in anyway other than specified in the signed Duplication Request. Please consult the Access Services and Fee Schedule for more details and submit your request using a Duplication Request Form. A staff member will contact you about your request.
