Welcome!
The ETSU College of Arts and Sciences Office for Research and Creative Activity (RCA) is where you find resources to support research and creative activities of faculty and students in the College. The office provides support and assistance in acquisition of internal seed grants, and external grants and contracts. Assistance is available to identify appropriate funding opportunities, budget and proposal development, and post-award management. We also work closely with the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, and various offices within the ETSU Office of Research and Sponsored Programs Administration.
The College is committed to the success of scholarly work conducted by our faculty
and students and serves as a conduit to collaboration among the diverse scholars located
herein.
- Sincerely,
- Eric W. Sellers, PhD

Thinking About Doing Research Involving People?
If so, you might have questions for or about the Institutional Review Board. An Institutional Review Board (IRB) is a committee established to review research involving human subjects. All research that involves humans as participants requires IRB review and approval prior to initiation of the study. The primary purpose of IRBs is to protect the rights and welfare of human subjects involved in research under their authority. ETSU has established two IRBs to review research from the Main Campus, Medical Campus, and Quillen VA Medical Center. The ETSU/VA Medical and Campus IRBs are an important part of ETSU's Human Research Protection Program.
