CAS Research Funding
Summer Research Award
The purposes of the College of Arts and Sciences Summer Research Award (SRA) include: enhancing scholarship and the academic excellence of the College; contributing to the professional growth and renewal of the faculty; and strengthening the College’s total curriculum and improving research and creative activity (RCA) across the College in ways that cannot be accomplished under the constraints of regular workload assignments. The college can fund up to five awards and the amount of the award is $8,000.
Applications for the award are due on the second Tuesday of February for the following summer. Application
Course Release Program
The purposes of the College of Arts and Sciences Course Release Program include: enhancing
scholarship and the academic excellence of the College; contributing to the professional
growth and renewal of the faculty; and strengthening the College’s total curriculum
and improving research and creative activity (RCA) across the College in ways that
cannot be accomplished under the constraints of regular workload assignments. Successful
applicants will be awarded a course release in the fall semester and a course release
the following spring semester.
Applications for the award are due on the second Tuesday of February for the following summer. Application
Scholarly Activity & Travel Award
The purposes of the College of Arts and Sciences Scholarly Activity and Travel Award
(SATA) is to provide funding for small-scale research projects, cover the costs of
collecting pilot data, support conference and/or research travel beyond what can be
supported by departmental funds, purchase research-related supplies, cover publication
and/or open access costs, and other purchases necessary to successfully complete an
ongoing project. The award is competitive and six submissions can be funded. The maximum
amount that can be requested is $2,500. Please request less than the maximum if appropriate,
as doing so may result in funding more than six proposals.
