Kirk Sprinkles Pfeiffer is a professional playwright and director/choreographer. He has written and produced 30+ original dance musicals and music revues, including Fever, Doo Wop: Girls Groups of the 1960s, American Bandstand, DUKE: King of Jazz, and Charleston the Musical through his company Sprinkles & Pfeiffer Productions (SprinklesandPfeiffer.com), alongside his husband. In 2019, he made his Off-Broadway debut as a producer and choreographer of the production My Princess Diana that played at the Ailey Theatre in NYC.
Kirk is a Broadway veteran who began his career at the early age of 15. His industry
experience includes Broadway, national tours, cruise ships, regional theaters, and
dance companies. Credits include: Radio City’s Christmas Spectacular starring the
Radio City Rockettes, A Chorus Line, Oklahoma, Duke Ellington’s Sophisticated Ladies,
as well as workshopping such acclaimed shows as Fosse, Footloose, and studied with
the cast of Tap Dogs.
He received his training and education from the University of North Carolina School
of the Arts and UNC Greensboro (MFA). He also studied on scholarship at Broadway Dance
Center and Steps on Broadway in NYC and had the great fortune of studying under the
direction of legendary teachers and choreographers including Anne Reinking, Melissa
Hayden, Gregory Hines, David Howard, Bob Avian, Luigi, Bill Hastings, and Chet Walker.
His passion for teaching and mentoring students has been a constant throughout his
career. “Passing the torch” and helping others to develop their careers is what he
finds most rewarding. He has served as co-chair on the Development Committee for Career
Transition For Dancers in NYC (2017 Honorary Tony Recipient). He has operated his
own training centers in NC and SC, as well as summer programs in NYC, where he has
prepared students who are successfully performing on Broadway, Off-Broadway, cruise
ships, dance companies, as well as Film/TV. He is a member of The Broadway League,
Actor’s Equity Association (AEA), American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA), International
Dance Teachers Association (IDTA), and National Association of Teachers of Singing
(NATS).
