
The Appalachian Research in Business Symposium (ARBS) is a collaborative effort of Appalachian State University, Eastern Kentucky University, East Tennessee State University, Marshall University, Radford University and Western Carolina University.
2026 ARBS
During April 16-17, 2026, Appalachian State University hosted the 13th Annual ARBS at their campus in Boone, North Carolina. The conference featured 96 research presentations across a broad variety of business and computer information systems topics from the faculty including some undergraduate and graduate students of the participating universities.
17 of these presentations included scholarly contributions from a total of 24 ETSU faculty and graduate students.

2025 Proceding:

During March 27-28, 2025, Marshall University hosted the 12th Annual ARBS at their campus in Huntington, West Virginia. The conference featured 75 research presentations across a broad variety of business and computer information systems topics from the faculty (and some graduate students) of the participating universities.
18 of these presentations included scholarly contributions from 17 ETSU faculty and 17 ETSU graduate students. Additionally, Professor Jon Smith, Director of CBAT's Bureau of Business and Economic Research, delivered an invited talk in a session on applied research grant opportunities for business schools.
