The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers a Certificate in English as a Second Language PreK-12. The program provides advanced coursework directed at instructional practices for individuals who want to teach English learners (ELs) in PreK-12 settings. For current teachers, this certificate program can lead to an additional teacher licensure in PreK-12 English as a Second Language .
The graduate certificate in PreK-12 English as a Second Language consists of 18 credit
hours. This certificate qualifies for financial aid. The courses offered as part of
the certificate also can be applied towards Masters in Reading Education ESL Concentration or Masters in Curriculum and Instruction (M.Ed.).
