The curriculum for the Johnson City Family Medicine Residency Program blends clinic and didactic components to support resident learning. During the first year, residents spend the majority of time on inpatient rotations. In the second and third years, increasing emphasis is placed on office practice and additional time is allotted to following an established patient panel in the Family Medicine Center. Activities are designed to focus on clinical prevention, community education, and screenings through participation in local health fairs. The key focus of the program is to understand the importance of prevention and health promotion in the lives of our patients and the community, and to teach residents to provide exceptional patient care.
