First Step: Interest Session
We are excited to help you begin your journey! The first step is to attend a Study
Abroad interest session. This is where you will learn about programs, the application
process, funding, courses available, health and safety, and so much more. Whether
you are new to study abroad or well versed in the opportunities available, our study
abroad advisors are available to help you pick a program best suited to your goals
and guide you through the application process - making your study abroad experience
one of the most memorable, rewarding parts of your ETSU experience.
Before you sign up, make sure you schedule enough time to: |
Attend an interest session, this is important so you get all the information you need. Once you figure out what works best for your schedule, register using the linked form below. *If you are planning on attending an ETSU Faculty-Led trip, you are exempt from attending an interest session as the faculty leader will likely have their own type of informational session. |
Talk with an education abroad advisor, your academic advisor, and your financial aid advisor to make a plan for studying abroad. |
Apply in the Bucs Abroad Portal prior to the deadline of the semester you are wanting to go abroad. |

Do our Interest Sessions not fit into your busy schedule? No worries! Please email studyabroad@etsu.edu prior to the deadline of the semester you are wanting to study abroad, and we can create an additional session that will fit your schedule!
Scholarship Info Sesssions
Education abroad scholarship info sessions will be held in February 2022 for students
approved for Summer and Fall 2022 programs. We will discuss the ETSU Study Abroad
Scholarship, how to optimize your application, and other scholarship options. Students
approved for Summer 2022 ETSU faculty-led programs are especially encouraged to join.

Please Note: You are REQUIRED to attend an interest session before you apply to a program through the ETSU Study Abroad Portal. However, if you are going to be going on an ETSU Faculty-Led trip it is not required as the faculty leader will likely have their own type of informational session.

How to Gain Course Credit
Information about filling out the Study Abroad Credit Approval (SACA) Form and things you should be discussing with your advisor about what courses/credits will transfer.
