Brunel University Interest Session - November 14

  • Friday, November 14, 11am - 12pm, Zoom
  • Join this interest session to learn more about one of ETSU's newest study abroad partner universities! Brunel University is located in London and gives students the opportunity to take a wide variety of courses abroad. This session will be led by a representative from Brunel and ETSU Education Abroad staff, and it will fulfill the study abroad interest session requirement.

Study Abroad Photo Contest

Share your favorite study abroad photo and win a gift card from a local restaurant!

  • Prizes
    • Freiberg's gift card: $25

  • How to enter
    • Submit your favorite study abroad photo here: https://forms.office.com/r/EQmsiJHbBk
    • The submission period is November 1 - November 13. Photos submitted after November 13 will not be considered.
  • How does voting work?
    • The voting period will be November 17-20, 2025.
    • All photos will be posted individually on the @etsustudyabroad Instagram account for official voting on November 17.
    • Votes will be determined by the number of likes each photo received on ETSU Study Abroad social media. 1 like = 1 vote.
    • Winners will be announced on November 21.
  • How many times can I enter?
    • We know it can be hard to choose your favorite photo, but we ask that you submit only one entry to the contest.
  • How will the photos be used?
    • Photos may be used on the ETSU Education Abroad website, social media, and future marketing materials (printed materials, digital materials, etc.). We want to share your experiences to help inspire other students to study abroad!
    • Please make sure the photographer and wll people in the photo have given permission for the photo to be posted to social media and used for marketing purposes.
    • Everyone in the photo should be appropriately clothed, and there should be no illegal or inappropriate activities occurring or depicted in the photo. Any photos depicting illegal or inappropriate activities or behavior will be barred from participation in the contest.

Throughout the week, posters featuring some of our Study Abroad Ambassadors will be displayed on the windows of the dining hall on the third floor of the Culp Center. Stop by to read about their amazing experiences abroad!

Culp Table

Stop by our Culp table on November 19 from 11am - 1pm to talk with Ambassadors and learn more about study abroad opportunities at ETSU!

International Dance Class

  • November 19, 7pm - 8pm, CPA Studio B
  • Register HERE to express your interest
  • The class will be limited to the first 20 participants who arrive at the event

Learn dances from around the world and gain insights into other cultures! The class will be led by instructor Brandon Riddle from Johnson City Ballroom.

Study Abroad Day Scholarship Scavenger Hunt

The 2025 scavenger hunt has ended. We hope to have another scavenger hunt in 2026. Please check this page in January 2026 for more information.

Planning to study abroad but need a little extra cash to make it happen? Complete our scavenger hunt to be entered to win one of five $300 study abroad scholarships!

  • Prizes
    • Five $300 Study Abroad Scholarships
    • Prizes will be drawn randomly on March 3, 2025
    • You must complete the scavenger hunt by finding all 5 locations to be entered to win
  • How to win
    • Use the clues to find all 5 locations around ETSU's main campus
    • There will be a QR code at each location
    • Scan the QR code, enter your name & email, and upload a selfie
    • You must complete the scavenger hunt by finding all 5 locations to be entered to win
    • Please note: some locations may only be available 8:00am - 4:30pm
    • The scavenger hunt will end on February 28 at 4:00pm. Entries submitted after this time will not be considered
    • All winners will be contacted via email on March 3 with instructions for claiming their scholarship

  • Eligibility
    • You are participating in an ETSU-approved Spring Break 2025, Summer 2025, or Fall 2025 or
    • You are planning to participate in an ETSU-approved Spring 2026 study abroad program
    • All program types are eligible, including short-term programs (ETSU faculty-led or direct enrollment) and long-term programs (semester exchange or direct enrollment)
    • Your study abroad application must be marked as Approved or Conditionally Approved in the Bucs Abroad portal before your scholarship will be disbursed
    • Only one scholarship will be awarded per student
    • Students who do not participate in a study abroad program during one of the above terms will not be awarded a scholarship but will have the option to receive an ETSU Education Abroad swag bag instead
  • Missing clues
    If you can't find a clue at one of the scavenger hunt locations, please take a selfie at the location and email studyabroad@etsu.edu. We will provide you with a direct link to upload your selfie. Please note that all selfies must be submitted to the appropriate forms in order to be eligible for the scholarship. Selfies that are emailed to studyabroad@etsu.edu will not count toward the prize drawing.
