Tattoo Fundamentals
Putting the fun in the fundamentals of tattooing! Take a sneak peek into its world. You will learn what you need to pursue your tattoo career and get ahead. With your own custom flash and portfolio, you will look at different styles, growing trends, and the history of tattooing—all while receiving needed certifications in human trafficking awareness and bloodborne pathogens.
Instructor: Cat Lowry
Cat fell in love with tattooing when she was 8 years old, and was upset at the time that there wasn't more diversity in the tattoo world. She wanted to be a part of that change. She started her apprenticeship in 2008, and has worked to grow in her craft and try a little bit of everything. Her favorite is style illustration, but she also loves doing fun, bold color pieces. She also has a certification in Areola dermopigmentation and scar and stretch marks camouflage. She wishes to make beautiful art, and help people in a comfortable, safe environment.
Please note: This class will not involve the use of tattoo machines. Most tattoo shops prefer apprentices without prior machine experience to avoid developing habits that may need to be corrected during professional training.Dates are February 3rd through March 3rd, 2026. Classes will meet Tuesday Nights from 6 to 8pm.
