As a prospective student we are pleased to have you with us, and hope that your interview day will be remembered as your best visit all around. We make every effort to provide you with a meaningful and enjoyable experience.

Transportation and Directions
- Flying: Johnson City, TN and the surrounding region is served by Tri-Cities Airport (TRI)
- Driving: Directions to Quillen can be found at Google Maps. (Stanton-Gerber Hall has been marked on the map as the destination; provide your starting address on the left.)
Please note that we are not located on the main ETSU campus but on the nearby Veterans Affairs Medical Center grounds.

Mountain Home is federal grounds encompassed by Johnson City. The speed limit on the VA Campus is heavily enforced.
In addition, Johnson City is serviced by the Johnson City Transit, Uber and Lyft.

Be sure to mention that you are interviewing with ETSU Quillen College of Medicine;
discounts may be available.
If you have any special needs or concerns or would like to inquire about overnight accommodations with a current student, please contact Admissions at sacom@etsu.edu or 423-439-2033 at least one week in advance for assistance.
Please note that any arrangements are strictly between the student and interviewee; the Admissions Office will not make any accommodation arrangements on behalf of those visiting.
Parking
Parking passes are mandatory; please request and print your free visitor permit through ETSU Parking Services.
Please plan to arrive early, as parking close to the building is limited and may take you a few moments.
Visitor parking can be found on the Interactive Campus Map (select VA Campus, College of Medicine Buildings, building number 178, Visitor Parking in the drop down menus).
Inclement Weather
If ETSU is closed, no interviews will be conducted. Information concerning the closing of ETSU can be found on the ETSU homepage; check "Advisories" across the information bar near the top.
The Admissions office will contact you as soon as possible to reschedule. Also, if you feel that weather or road conditions make it unsafe for you to travel to your interviews at Quillen, please don't try it. Instead, contact us at sacom@etsu.edu or 423-439-2033 and we will happily reschedule your interviews for the first available date.
Typical Interview Day
Below is a typical schedule for the interview day. Please note that you will be touring various facilities, so comfortable shoes will be in order. Lunch and transportation will be provided.
Please arrive in the Admissions Office, Stanton-Gerber Hall Room C221, by 9:25 am to check in. You will receive a name badge and a packet of information upon your arrival. Prior to the welcome session, all interviewees will be asked to complete a survey (please have AAMC ID number ready) and will have their photograph taken to be added to their application materials.
9:30am - Welcome and Introduction with Admissions & Financial Services Staff
11:00am - Student-led tours of Stanton-Gerber Hall, Student Study Center, and Interprofessional
Education and Research Center
12:00pm - Lunch with students and tour at Johnson City Medical Center; brief riding tour
of Veterans Affairs grounds; return to Admissions
1:20pm - Break
1:30pm - Interview 1*
2:30pm - Break
2:45pm - Interview 2*
3:45pm - Final questions and departure-check with Admissions staff before leaving
*Please note interviews take varying amounts of time, depending on several factors. A maximum of one hour is allotted for each one-on-one interview. Interviewees will be escorted to and from the Admissions office by their Admissions Committee interviewers. All interviews will take place in Stanton-Gerber Hall unless otherwise noted.
Post Interview
Any correspondence with interviewers (thank you notes, etc.) should be directed to
the interviewer's attention via the admissions office. Application updates may be
submitted to sacom@etsu.edu. Address updates must be made through AMCAS.
The admissions committee meets periodically after final reviews of each applicant.
At that time the committee will decide to either offer acceptance, place on hold,
or terminate consideration. Applicants will be notified within a week after the meeting
date noted in their interview materials regarding the action taken by the committee
on their application.
