Application Requirements
Thank you for your interest in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program!
Information about ERAS may be obtained from your Dean's office or from the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC). International medical graduates may obtain information about ERAS through the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
Please be aware that applications are only accepted through Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)for both residency and fellowship programs. Categorical Track (NRMP code: 2066405F0).
All candidates must follow the same processes for application and interviewing in
order to be considered for the East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Quillen College
of Medicine (QCOM) Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship.
- Complete applications are accepted through the ERAS program by September 1. No faxed, mailed and/or emailed applications will be accepted.
- All candidates applying for residency or fellowship positions must be registered with NRMP.
- Applicants must be eligible to get a temporary training license in the state of Tennessee.
- Applicants must submit certified or original copies of transcripts of their medical education.
- MSPE
- Applicants should have passed USMLE Step 1, 2, and 3 or COMLEX Level 1, 2, and 3 at time of application.
- Three letters of recommendation addressing the applicant's qualifications and child and adolescent psychiatry interest (one of which is from current Residency Program Director) are required.
- A personal statement and current curriculum vitae must be included in the application.
- Some U.S. Psychiatry experience will be expected.
- Applicants who are International Medical Graduates (IMG's) are required to have current ECFMG certification.
- Successful candidates must meet all eligibility requirements for appointment to ETSU’s GME programs, and all our affiliated hospitals.
- All candidates must have U.S. citizenship, U.S. Permanent Resident Card (U.S. Green Card), or be eligible for a U.S. J-1 visa. QCOM only sponsor J1 visas.
- All matched candidates must also have the ETSU required vaccinations: MMR, Tetanus/Diphtheria, Hepatitis B, Varicella/Chicken Pox, Polio, COVID, TB Test or Quantiferon Gold test dated within six months prior to start date of program.
- All matched candidates must pass a background check.
- ECFMG Certificate (if applicable).
- Current Licensure (if applicable).
- Residency performance evaluation from the Program Director of your psychiatry residency program.
- Applications must include proof of completion of at least 2 years from ACGME Accredited Psychiatry Residency.
All ETSU QCOM Fellowship Programs will begin offering interview invitations on or
about August 1. All interviews will be offered no later than September 15; however,
there may be a rare occasion when, due to cancellation, an applicant may be contacted
later in the season.
Due to a high volume of applications, we are unlikely to extend interview offers to applicants who do not signal our program.
