Yaritza Abdelnour is a native of Barquisimeto, Venezuela, the most beautiful country
in South America, home of the world's highest waterfall, "Angel Falls". She and her
husband Carlos, and their two daughters, moved to the United States in August 2000.
They left behind their large and beloved family in search of professional opportunities
and a better future for their young daughters. Yaritza came to ETSU in 2010 with over
25 years of experience in administrative work in the private sector. Prior to join
the Office of Academic Affairs at the Gatton College of Pharmacy, she worked at the
College of Nursing as Information Research Technician for the Office of Practice and
Community Health Centers, where she gained her first administrative experience in
an institution of higher education.
Yaritza holds an Associate Degree in Physical and Financial Resources from Fermin
Toro University in her country Venezuela, where she worked as an Insurance Broker
and successfully managed her father's insurance agency for more than 1 0 years. Yaritza
is excited to be a part of ETSU Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy and grateful for the
opportunity to serve the students, faculty and staff, in her role as Office Coordinator
of Academic Affairs.
