Transfer Living Community
- What it is...
First semester transfer students are eligible to live in a community of fellow transfer students (for one academic year only). The Transfer Living Community (TLC) will include social engagement activities to support you as an individual and assist you in becoming an engaged member of the ETSU family!
Transferring can be challenging but exciting. The TLC is a way for you to quickly meet other students and begin feeling at home at ETSU. We will provide you with social opportunities to engage and interact with the other members of the Transfer Living Community such as:
- Bowling, hiking, escape room, etc.
Attending on campus activities together
In addition, we can provide support from our staff to help you adjust and connect to resources at ETSU.
- Housing Information
The TLC will be located in Buc Ridge Phase 2. The cost varies per year. Click here for current cost. MEAL PLAN IS NOT REQUIRED!
After you have been accepted into the TLC you will be assigned a roommate that is also in the TLC. If you already have someone in mind you want to room with, who is also a first semester transfer student, please indicate that on the application.
Students are only eligible to live in the TLC for their first academic year (Fall - Spring) . If you plan to live on campus beyond your first year, you will be reassigned to a new room or housing facility.
- TLC Student Expectations
TLC Students are required to:
- Attend PREVIEW before the Fall semester begins (you can attend the 3 day traditional event or the 1 day transfer event)
Attend 2 meal events each semester provided by the TLC (breakfast, lunch or dinners)
- Attend at least 1 social activity sponsored by the TLC (or a campus activity that we attend together) each semester (LETS SHOW OUR CAMPUS SPIRIT)!
Communicate with the TLC staff (i.e., respond to surveys, emails, etc. We want to hear from you!)
- TLC Staff Expectations
Staff members who help facilitate this community will:
- Provide TLC students with opportunities to socialize as a group (fun and yummy meals at the clubhouse or other areas on campus)
Offer support for TLC members
Provide opportunities for TLC students to engage in social activities (i.e., bowling, hiking, escape room, etc.)
Provide referrals to campus and community resource when needed
The TLC is full for Fall 2021/Spring 2022
The application for transfers who are starting Fall 2022 will open soon. Please check back.
NOTE: This is a separate application from the Housing and Residence Life application. (both applications must be completed)
