Reflection on Using High-Impact Teaching Practices
One or more of the most dramatic changes made to classes: Engaging the students by giving them simple problems to solve those in various ways, from different directions, using different tools. Offering a learning outcome quiz on D2L in order to know their level of understanding.
How it went: So far so good. Some students liked it.
What next: I would like to try out some hands-on activities in lecture class. I would like to
divide the large class in five or six small groups and engage them to those activities
( like using ropes/strings to pull a box from different directions or making pendulums
from strings of various lengths and checking how the time-period changes) related
to the lecture material.
Reflection on Gen Ed Scholars Institute
In general, my teaching style and testing method changed and I already saw some better results. Thanks to Gen Ed. Scholars Institute.
