Education 

BS in Mathematics from East Tennessee State University in December 1984 M.ED. in Mathematics Education from East Tennessee State University August 1990 

Teaching Experience 

One year as substitute teacher at David Crockett High School 1980-1981which resulted in interest in full time teaching.

  • Four years teaching high school math at Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett High Schools from 1985-1989
  • Seventeen years as a graduate assistant/adjunct faculty teaching mathematics, statistical software, excel, word/word perfect, databases, and basic programing at ETSU, NESCC, and other community colleges from 1989-2006
  • Two years as Research Assistant in the Center of Excellence for Children in State Custody in the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University from 2004-2006.  Responsibilities included all areas of research and quality control statistics.
  • Sixteen years of teaching research, SPSS, excel, word, databases, and PowerPoint design to psychology students, medical students, medical residents, staff, and therapists for a psychology department of a large community hospital in Pennsylvania from 2006-2022.  Other responsibilities included coordinating 3 Continuing Education Programs and multiple conferences, quality control statistics, payroll, and a year as Residency Program Coordinator during residency program application.  She was one of the two people who helped design the CSSRS screening tool in 2009.  This CSSRS screening tool for suicide ideation is now used worldwide.
  • Returned in 2023 to teach probability and statistics and other math courses as adjunct faculty at ETSU and/or other community colleges/universities in area.
