Program Overview
The Statistics concentration at ETSU equips students with a strong foundation in statistical reasoning, quantitative problem solving, and data-driven decision making. Students develop skills in data analysis, modeling, computation, and communication using modern statistical software while working with real-world datasets drawn from health sciences, business, and social research contexts. The curriculum balances theoretical foundations with applied experience and prepares students for careers in analytics, industry, and research, as well as graduate study in statistics, biostatistics, data science, and related quantitative fields.
Statistical Consulting Lab
A distinctive feature of the program is student involvement in the department’s Statistical Consulting Lab, where they engage with authentic data questions from campus collaborators and external partners. These activities strengthen technical and professional skills in project design, interpretation, and communication.
