The Medical Student Education Committee (MSEC) is the curriculum committee of the Quillen College of Medicine, with full responsibility to oversee the undergraduate medical education program as a whole and has responsibility for the overall design, management, integration, evaluation, and enhancement of a coherent and coordinated medical curriculum.
The Medical Student Education Committee (MSEC) meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 3:30 - 6:00 p.m. in Stanton Gerber Hall. MSEC meetings are open meetings. Call 423-439-6233 for more information

A medical school engages in ongoing planning and continuous quality improvement processes that establish short and long-term programmatic goals, result in the achievement of measurable outcomes that are used to improve programmatic quality, and ensure effective monitoring of the medical education programs compliance with accreditation standards.

The LCME site visit was completed in late October 2019. The College of Medicine received notification of the LCME determination in February 2020 of continued full accreditation of the medical education program for an eight year term.
The LCME website provides an in-depth view of LCME accreditation standards and elements by linking them to relevant sections of LCME accreditation publications.
The LCME Co-Secretaries host interactive discussions of LCME standards/elements and procedures on the third Thursday of each month (January - October) unless identified otherwise.
