Passing Your Pediatric Boards
Passing Your Pediatric Boards Will Continue to Be a Priority for Our Department
We designed a new curriculum in 2012 based on Nelson's Textbook of Pediatrics. Over the course of 18 months, the residents have topically assigned readings that will cover all of Nelson's text. Each month, all the didactics will revolve around the theme, such as GI or ID. At the end of the month, the residents take a board-like exam related to the topic. The curriculum will repeat itself during your 3 years at our training program. This ensures mastery of material prior to taking the pediatric board exam. Within the curriculum, residents participate in team based learning to review in small groups important topics and practice test questions. These small groups meet twice a month or more depending on the group. The team and resident with the highest exam average will be rewarded at the end of the year.
