Camera Room - Stripping Supervisor

Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in supervising camera room personnel and activities, and preparing master stripping guide. Performs other duties as assigned.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises personnel performing such duties as platemaking, stripping and camera operations.
Plans work schedules and makes work assignments.
Trains new employees.
Checks and inspects work for progress and quality.
Completes work performance evaluations.
Prepares master stripping guide.
Reads and studies specifications.
Lays out flats, measures margins, tapes negatives, cuts out masks using razor blade, etc.
Uses drafting tools and instruments such as T-square, triangles, art brushes, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to supervise camera room personnel and activities.
Willingness to work and willingness to work with others.
Ability to prepare master stripping guide.
Ability to use drafting tools and instruments.
Ability to attend to details.
Skill in platemaking, stripping and camera operations.
Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. High school graduate or equivalent; minimum of two years experience in graphics, including paste-up, layout, and stripping. Supervisory experience preferred.
