Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in executing routine and simple clerical work in checking receipts and invoices, arranging stock, and performing related work as required.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Checks incoming materials and supplies against invoices, bills, shipping papers and purchase orders.
Takes and assists in taking inventory of stock items.
Arranges stock in storeroom and on shelf.
Assists individuals in finding needed items.
Performs other work as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of basic arithmetic.
Knowledge of elementary store-keeping procedures.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to lift heavy objects.
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public and other employees.
Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. Graduation from a standard high school.
