ACT Scam Warning

ACT Scam

University School Students-

One of our students has been approached about an ACT Scam. The student received a phone call from a person who supposedly works for ACT, and that he was calling to send the student ACT materials that the student requested and requested a credit card number. Luckily, the student did not provide any information, and when the parent asked to speak to the caller he hung up on her.

Please note that scammers can sometimes legally obtain information like your name, address, and phone number, and then fraudulently try to obtain your credit/debit card numbers or other identity information.

If you are ever unsure about any request from a company or college, please do not give out any information. Instead, look up a legitimate phone number for the organization and call to ask if there is any problem with your account and tell them about the attempt to gain information.

Please let me know if anything like this happens to you so we can try to keep all of our students safe!
