Important Senior Announcements

The Senior Parent Committee has important information to communicate to the parents and guardians of 2022 senior class. There are a lot of fun and exciting events to put on your calendars as we plan and prepare for the remainder of the school year! Please read below for the key dates that need to be on your calendar as well as information about the fundraising that still needs to be done to facilitate these events.
Graduation Cap/Gown Order Due Today if you would like to turn in paper copy or pay with cash or check. Orders can also be mailed or placed online, but those need to be completed as soon as possible. If you are hoping to receive any items to give as gifts, those orders must be received in person by Jostens today from 12-1 at school.
Senior Week Information: Senior Week is May 23 - May 27. There are a lot of fun events and traditions that happen that week and we will need help and support from the families to make it a success. Key events include:
Senior Skip Day - no school for seniors!
Dollywood Trip
Graduation Practice- May 26am
Baccalaureate - May 26
Graduation Practice-May 27am
Graduation- May 27 6:00pm Mary B. Martin Center for the Arts
Project Graduation - May 27. This is an all-night lock-in at the CPA for seniors and juniors. We will have food, fun and door prizes to give away. This is held after graduation to provide the students with a safe way to celebrate graduation with their classmates. The lock-in is free for seniors. Juniors will pay to attend. If you are interested in helping coordinate Project Graduation or would like to be a chaperone, please contact Cindy Ryder at 423-483-5214.
T-Shirts and Christmas Ornaments: The seniors will each receive a class t-shirt and holiday ornament. We allowed students from the senior class to submit designs for the shirts and ornaments. The students voted on their favorite design. Madison Grant was chosen to design the t-shirt and Karimah Mohammed was chosen to design the ornament.
Discount Card Sales: Each student was given a packet of 10 discount cards to sell for the senior class. The cards each cost $15 and had sponsored discounts to local eateries and establishments. The goal is to raise $150 per student. We asked the students to sell their cards or return the unused cards after fall break. 100% of these funds go towards the spending account for the senior class and will be used to pay for the t-shirts, ornaments, and Senior Week. This is the only real fundraiser that will take place to support the senior year. We still have a lot of students who did not sell discount cards or contribute to the fundraiser. If your student did not sell discount cards, we ask that they bring a check to the office for $150 (or the difference if they sold less than 10 cards) to ensure their participation in Senior Week. If students opt to not participate in Senior Week, they do not need to provide the $150, however they will still be expected to attend class as Senior Week is considered a school sponsored event. Checks can be made payable to University High School. If your student is unable to make a financial contribution, we can provide a scholarship based on need. Please contact Dr. Shaw if this applies to you and she will handle that anonymously with the Committee.
Bash at the Barn - We have organized a fun outing for the students on February 26 at the Barn at Boones Falls Reserve. We will have a DJ. This is not an event sponsored by the committee, so there will be a fee to attend. More information to come, so mark your calendars!
